To celebrate its first year
of activity CEMSP organizes an international conference in the occasion of the 300th
anniversary of Avondano, Gluck and Jomelli.

assinalar o seu primeiro ano de actividade o CEMSP apresenta uma conferência
internacional celebrando o 300º aniversário dos nascimentos de Avondano, Gluck
e Jomelli.

Since
its establishment in 2004, the baroque orchestra ‘DIVINO SOSPIRO’
has given uttermost importance to the study and research of the 18th
century Portuguese music - a priceless heritage, away from deserved
recognition thus far. Within this scope, in 2013 a partnership
between ‘DIVINO SOSPIRO’ and Parques
de Sintra – Monte da Lua was
established, jointly creating Centro
de Estudos Musicais Setecentistas de Portugal – CEMSP (18th
Century Musical Studies Center in Portugal) at the Queluz National
Palace.
CEMSP
is formed by important personalities from the national and foreign
musical culture, having as its Honorary Chairman the former President
of the Portuguese Republic Dr. Jorge Sampaio.
CEMSP aims to
establish connections between musicology, musical practice and to
raise awareness towards the 18th century repertoire, with particular
focus on the Portuguese one. Having as a main purpose to promote and
reinforce the development of historically informed practice in
Portugal, and to spur the Portuguese repertoire in the international
musical interpretation circuit, CEMSP conducts studies, scientific
investigations, critical editions, workshops and a high quality
musical season, with a strong emphasis on the Clementi fortepiano
(which is part of the Palace’s collection) - now recovered and
returned to its original activity.
Desde
a sua fundação em 2004, a orquestra barroca DIVINO SOSPIRO deu a
maior importância ao estudo e investigação da música portuguesa
do período setecentista, um património inestimável, ainda longe do
seu merecido reconhecimento. Neste contexto, em 2013, criou em
parceria com a Parques de Sintra - Monte da Lua, o Centro de Estudos
Musicais Setecentistas de Portugal (CEMSP), com sede no Palácio
Nacional de Queluz. O CEMSP é constituído por importantes
personalidades da cultura musical portuguesa e estrangeira,
orgulhando-se de ter como presidente honorário o Dr. Jorge Sampaio,
ex-presidente da república.
O
Centro pretende estabelecer ligações entre a musicologia, a prática
musical, a divulgação e a sensibilização para o repertório
setecentista, com particular destaque para o português. Tem como
objectivo principal impulsionar e cimentar em Portugal o
desenvolvimento da música historicamente informada e potenciar a
divulgação do repertório português no circuito internacional da
interpretação musical, realizando estudos, investigações
científicas, edições críticas, workshops e uma temporada de
música de alto perfil, com particular enfase no pianoforte
Clementi que faz parte do acervo do palácio, agora recuperado e
devolvido à sua actividade original.
